Today’s message

Today pastor Dilan brought the message “His gospel before our rights.”, continuing the sermon series “Living in the in-between”. In this series we are looking at what life should be like for Christians living between their conversion and the future glory (till we go to God or Jesus returns).

It’s great to have you join with us today for our online service of worship. We trust that the Lord will minister to you as you worship Him today.
If you are new to this format, the idea is to progressively scroll down this page and join with us as we worship our God together.
Click here for more details (opens in a new tab).

We meet in person each Sunday at 10am and we endeavour to get the online version available by 3pm the same day. If you are in Sydney Australia we would love for you to join with us in person if you are comfortable in doing that at this time.
We meet at 23 Conder St Burwood NSW.

Pastor’s Probe

Grow closer to God so that we can grow closer to each other.

Faustine and I celebrated 11 years of marriage a couple of weeks ago. One of the things we continue to recognise is that a marriage cannot exist without three partners.

When Christian couples prepare to get married one of the pictures given to them is of a triangle. God at the apex and the partners at the other two points. Only as the partners grow closer to God can they grow closer to each other and experience the fullness of marriage. The further we are from God, the further we feel from each other.

What is true of marriage is also very true of the local church. It is only when we grow closer to God, we can grow closer to each other. The pictures the bible uses to describe the church bears witness to this truth. For an example the church is called the body of Christ in 1 Corinthians 12. The members of the body cannot function at all if it’s not connected to the head which is Christ. In 1 Peter 2, Peter describes the church as a spiritual house being built up together.

Christianity is not an individualistic thing where we have a relationship with God but not with each other. So, let us take time to draw near to God and experience the inevitable result of drawing near to each other.
