It’s great to have you join with us today (the shortest day of the year) for our online service of worship. We trust that the Lord will minister to you as you worship Him today.
If you are new to this format, the idea is to progressively scroll down this page and join with us as we worship our God together.

Church family Zoom get together
Tonight at 7:30pm we have another opportunity to meet together online to chat, read the bible and pray for one another. There will be opportunity to ask questions about the return to church. The group working on the return to church met yesterday. We are aiming to recommence live church next Sunday, 5 July.
(Details are in the BCCB online bulletin email sent yesterday.)
There is an ongoing need for food both for folk within our fellowship and also the wider community around us. Currently the food bank is completely empty after having been able to assist a number of folk both within our fellowship and also a few families in need in the local public school. Donations of non-perishable food can be dropped off at the manse or next Sunday at church or contact Pastor Dilan.
Look out for the new time for our online services from next Sunday
With the return to services in the church building starting next week the online service will not be available till later in the day. This is due to the some parts of the online service being recorded live in the morning service and then being posted online afterwards rather than prerecorded as currently happens. We don’t yet know how long this process will take but we are hopeful of having the online service available by 3pm next Sunday possibly a bit earlier if everything goes well.
Welcome and call to worship
Our first song today is “Come Praise And Glorify Our Lord”. Please click the play button to watch the clip and join your voice in singing when the song begins.
As we resume face to face meetings, we encourage regular members of the congregation, both face to face and online, to support the work of the church through electronic funds transfer (eft) of your tithes and offerings to the church bank account or via iGive. If you don’t have access to an eft arrangement and would like to contribute to the church, please speak to Pastor Dilan or the treasurer.
If you are new to our church there is no expectation of you giving, but should you choose to do so it would be gratefully received.
You can now give anonymously through iGive.
Details are at the bottom of this page.
Our second song today is “Endless Hallelujah”. Please click the play button to watch the clip and join your voice in singing when the song begins.
Chapter 3 comes after chapter 4.
Success is like an iceberg. What is seen above the water line is impressive, commanding, desirable and charming. But what we often forget is it is a result of what is unseen.
In Nehemiah 3 the completed wall, would have looked impressive. But what we often forget is chapter 3 comes after chapter 4. In Nehemiah chapter 4 there was a battle, enemy threats, mockery, discouragements, backsliding, fatigue, unhelpful gossip. In the middle of this battle we hear Nehemiah desperately praying and doing what he can. But chapter 4 also shows God at work not only protecting the people and allowing the work to finish in record time but also changing the people.
Perhaps your life may look like Nehemiah chapter 4 right now, battles raging, discouragement, fatigue, ill health and fear. There is prayer being offered at every twist and turn. But let us take heart. In the middle of our battles and prayers, our God, who is great and awesome, is at work, fighting and winning our battles. He is also at work changing us, transforming us to the image and the likeness of his son Jesus.
