Sunday 22-March-2020

We welcome you to our first online service of worship.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 virus upon Australia and the limitations being placed on the size of gatherings of people, the decision has been made to shift from meeting together in one place to meeting here on line each week until we can again safely meet together to worship our God.

Below Pastor Dilan explains our church’s response to the COVID-19 restrictions. When you completed watching this video or if you have already watched this video, please scroll down the page to continue to the service itself from “Welcome and call to worship”.

Sunday Service

Welcome and call to worship

Our first song will be “Come praise and glorify our God”
Please click the play button and join your voice with the recorded song.
If an advertisement starts playing, let it display for the first few seconds and then click the Skip Ads button towards the bottom right of the song window. Another type of advertisement may appear as a rectangle of text. You can clear this by clicking on the small x in the top right corner of that rectangle. At the conclusion of the song Youtube will most likely give a list of other videos to watch. Please ignore this and continue with this page.

Offering

As we are not meeting together may we encourage our members and regulars to deposit/transfer your tithes and offerings to the church bank account. If you are new to our church there is no expectation of you giving, but should you choose to do so it would be gratefully received.

Please now join us in our second song “My hope rests firm in Jesus Christ”. For this song please start the video as previously explained and then join in with the words included on this page below the video link. Note that the song starts with a soloist singing the first verse and this verse is repeated once the musicians join in. You are welcome to join in at any time.

My hope rests firm on Jesus Christ

My hope rests firm on Jesus Christ,
He is my only plea.
Though all the world should point and scorn,
His ransom leaves me free;
His ransom leaves me free.

My hope sustains me as I strive
And strain towards the goal;
Though still I stumble into sin,
His death paid for it all;
His death paid for it all.

My hope provides me with a spur
To help me run this race:
I know my tears will turn to joy
The day I see his face;
The day I see his face.

My hope is to be with my Lord,
To know as I am known;
To serve Him gladly all my days
In praise before His throne;
In praise before His throne.

Pastoral prayer

Today’s bible reading (below) is taken from the NIV. It will be read at the start of the “Bible reading and Sermon” video.

Psalm 121

1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Bible reading and Sermon
