Church family Zoom get together

Tonight at 7:30pm we have another opportunity to meet together online to chat, read the bible and pray for one another.
(Details are in the BCCB online bulletin email sent yesterday.)

Food bank

There is an ongoing need for food both for folk within our fellowship and also the wider community around us. Donations of non-perishable food can be dropped off at the manse or contact Pastor Dilan.

Welcome and call to worship

Our first song today is “10,000 Reasons”. Please click the play button to watch the clip and join your voice in singing when the song begins.

As we resume face to face meetings, we encourage regular members of the congregation, both face to face and online, to support the work of the church through electronic funds transfer (eft) of your tithes and offerings to the church bank account or via iGive. If you don’t have access to an eft arrangement and would like to contribute to the church, please speak to Pastor Dilan or the treasurer.

If you are new to our church there is no expectation of you giving, but should you choose to do so it would be gratefully received.

You can now give anonymously through iGive.
Details are at the bottom of this page.

Peace within the Storm

In Mark 4, when Jesus and the disciples were caught in a ferocious storm, Jesus slept calmly unfazed by the chaos around him. Surely, water must have splashed onto him; he would have been thrown around; he heard the disciples screaming but he slept. Not that he didn’t care, rather it’s because he had inner faith and a strong relationship with God which gave him peace while the storm is raging around him. As expected Jesus did calm the storm, but what is remarkable is the peace he had during the storm.

As we read Nehemiah chapter 2, we hear Nehemiah experiencing a few storms, but we also could see his inner faith. When he was terrified before the king, he was able to talk to God. When he was inspecting the ruined walls around Jerusalem, he recalled God’s promises. When he was confronted by enemies, he was able to speak with confidence, knowing God would give him success.

Perhaps there are storms raging around you today. Let us remember that God can certainly use his power to still the storms around his children, but more often he uses his power to calm the storms within his children. Here is a song which reflects this truth (opens in a new tab).
